Draftsman – Ship Design & Engineering

About the role

Nexmarin is looking for an experienced Draftsman to support its marine engineering team in Dubai. The role involves producing accurate technical drawings, structural schematics and statutory documents for ship design projects.

Key responsibilities

• Produce detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings for new vessel designs, modifications, and marine structural engineering projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications.
• Generate complete ship structural plans and statutory drawings that meet class society approval standards and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate closely with naval architects, structural engineers and other stakeholders to verify schematic accuracy and design compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Revise and re‑issue drawings promptly in response to engineering calculations, design changes and client feedback, maintaining version control.
• Manage digital drawing registers, enforce CAD standards and keep organized archives of all project documentation for easy retrieval.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, Drafting or a related discipline (preferred) combined with 2‑3 years of practical marine drafting experience.
• Demonstrated competence in preparing ship structural and statutory drawings, and ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
