Drama and English Teacher (Primary)

About the role

Aldar Education is recruiting a Drama and English Teacher for Al Rayana Charter School, a mixed‑gender primary school in Abu Dhabi, starting August 2026. The role involves delivering engaging drama and English lessons that inspire creativity, collaboration and academic success.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver drama and English lessons that meet the American curriculum and cater for the full ability range.
• Assess student progress, record data using Target Tracker and use assessment information to inform future planning.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers, curriculum support staff and external specialists such as speech‑language therapists.
• Maintain a positive classroom environment, manage behaviour in line with school policy and act as a role model for pupils.
• Communicate regularly with parents and carers about student achievement and wellbeing.
• Organise and lead a weekly extracurricular activity (ECA) and support school events, outings and evenings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject with a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Minimum 1–2 years of teaching experience, preferably with learners for whom English is an additional language.
• Demonstrated passion for whole‑child education and involvement in extra‑curricular activities.
• High level of professionalism, respect for a diverse school community and a solution‑focused attitude.
• Clean enhanced DBS/police check.
