Drydock Engineer

About the role

The Drydock Engineer works in the Marine Division of the Technical Department, reporting to the Drydock Manager. The role is responsible for overseeing vessel drydocking, maintenance and repair projects to ensure they are completed safely, efficiently and on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and supervise all technical activities related to vessel drydocking, including work lists, schedules, specifications and documentation.
• Supervise drydock operations, ensuring compliance with technical, safety, environmental and regulatory standards (IMO, classification societies, etc.).
• Conduct inspections of vessel machinery, hull and systems, preparing detailed reports and repair recommendations.
• Manage dock crew and contractors, providing technical guidance and ensuring quality control throughout the project.
• Monitor resource allocation, costs and milestones, maintaining accurate records and timely reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in drydocking, ship repair or marine engineering, preferably in shipyards or offshore projects.
• Strong understanding of classification, regulatory and industry standards such as IMO, DNV, ABS, ASTM.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of FEM (Finite Element Method) software is an advantage.
