Electrical Inspector - Street Lighting Project

About the role

Zutari designs transport systems across Africa and the Middle East, covering roads, rail, transit and integrated mobility. It is seeking an Electrical Inspector to support site delivery and quality assurance on a street lighting project in Dubai. The inspector records pre-installation defects, monitors the replacement of laminae and PLMS nodes, verifies the return of existing infrastructure to RTA stores and keeps accurate inspection records.

Key responsibilities

• Record pre-installation defects in supporting infrastructure as reported by the Contractor.
• Inspect and document the condition of relevant infrastructure before installation begins.
• Monitor the replacement of laminae and PLMS nodes against approved requirements and project scope.
• Verify that removed or existing infrastructure returned to RTA stores is properly accounted for.
• Maintain accurate inspection records, including site observations, defects, replacements and close-out status.
• Coordinate with contractor site teams, supervisors and project engineers on findings and corrective actions.
• Raise and track issues such as defects, damaged infrastructure, incomplete replacement works or non-compliant installation.
• Support quality checks during installation and replacement, and verify that records of removed, replaced and returned components are complete and auditable.
• Take part in routine site inspections and reporting.

Required profile

• Hands-on Electrical Inspector with strong site inspection experience in street lighting or related infrastructure works.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and monitor replacement activities on a live urban project.
• Experience in electrical inspection, defect recording and quality documentation; familiarity with street lighting components and replacement activities.
• Exposure to PLMS nodes or similar smart lighting/control components is advantageous.
• Previous Dubai/UAE or wider Middle East project experience is preferred.

Required skills
