About the role

The Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (EMI/EMC) Engineer joins the Aircraft Integration Team to safeguard aircraft against internal and external electromagnetic threats. This position supports both new aircraft development programs and modification projects, ensuring compliance with E3, HIRF, IEL, DEL, EMRADHAZ, and P‑Static standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop, plan and execute E3 certification strategies, including test preparation, execution and documentation.
  • Define E3 architecture for new or modified electrical and electronic systems to guarantee electromagnetic resilience.
  • Support antenna co‑site analysis, evaluation and optimisation for aircraft communication systems.
  • Assist system designers in creating technical specifications and equipment installations that meet environmental standards.
  • Collaborate with electrical and mechanical teams during system validation and verification (V&V) activities.
  • Review supplier E3 qualification test plans and reports for aircraft‑level compliance.
  • Provide EMI/EMC guidance to internal teams, suppliers and customers.
  • Liaise with certification authorities, suppliers and accredited test houses.
  • Create and maintain test reports, procedures, certification evidence and documentation for accredited testing.
  • Support continuous‑improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, efficiency and process optimisation.

Required profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Aerospace Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in EMI/EMC within the Aerospace & Defence industry.
  • Strong understanding of aircraft and system design processes, including ARP 4754 and ARP 4761.
  • Familiarity with 14 CFR Part 23 regulations, RTCA/DO‑160, SAE ARP standards and FAA advisory circulars.
  • Knowledge of MIL‑STD‑464 and MIL‑STD‑461 is a strong asset.
  • Experience working in EASA/FAA‑approved Design Organizations (Part 21J) is advantageous.

Required skills

  • EMI/EMC analysis and E3 certification.
  • Electromagnetic simulation tools (EMA3D, CST, FEKO).
  • Aircraft system design and wiring diagram evaluation.
  • Knowledge of antennas, transmission lines, signal integrity and propagation.
  • RTCA/DO‑160, SAE ARP, MIL‑STD‑464, MIL‑STD‑461 standards.
  • Ability to review supplier test plans and liaise with certification authorities.
