Estimator - Infrastructure

About the role

Careers International is hiring an Estimator for Infrastructure Projects in Dubai. The role covers accurately estimating the costs of construction projects and managing the project budget from inception to completion, including oversight of material and service procurement and compliance with contract terms. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in civil engineering and construction, with a strong background in quantity surveying and estimating for infrastructure projects in the UAE.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates for infrastructure projects, covering materials, labour and equipment.
• Develop and maintain project budgets within agreed parameters.
• Conduct site visits and liaise with project managers to monitor progress and spot cost issues.
• Track and report project costs to stakeholders regularly.
• Prepare and submit progress claims and variations in line with contract terms.
• Support and guide junior quantity surveyors and estimators.
• Build relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing and timely delivery.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor and Estimator on infrastructure projects.
• Dubai or Abu Dhabi experience is required.
• Proven track record of managing project budgets and delivering on time and within budget.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of pricing, contracts and procurement.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD and cost estimating software.
• Negotiation, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Time management and organisational skills; able to work independently and in a team.
