Faculty - Business (Accounting)

About the role

HCT is hiring a full-time faculty member in Accounting (Business) to teach second-language learners in a student-centred environment that respects their culture and traditions. The post covers teaching, advising, research, administration and leadership, with a workload of 36.5 hours per week (generally 12-15 credit hours).

Key responsibilities

• Teach courses using a practical, applied approach, adapting to a second-language environment and giving continuous feedback through tests, projects and assignments.
• Evaluate students, update grades, contribute to question banks and assessments, and prepare electronic Course Assessment Files and reports.
• Serve as student advisor, recommend at-risk action plans, mentor students during internships and work placements, and hold regular office hours.
• Conduct applied research, attend conferences, mentor student research and serve on Faculty, program, campus and system-wide committees.
• Maintain teaching facilities, handle course management, revise courses and curricula, and invigilate assessments.
• Coach and mentor subordinates, help recruit and develop UAE Nationals, and promote organisational resilience.

Required profile

• A Ph.D. in a relevant discipline, or a Master's degree with a professional certification and 5 years of teaching and industry experience.
• At least 3 years of teaching experience in the relevant discipline.
• At least 3 years of relevant industry experience preferred.
• Experience developing course curriculum to accreditation and international standards, and incorporating educational technology into teaching.
