Flow Cytometry Scientist

About the role

The Flow Cytometry Scientist performs high‑complexity flow cytometry testing to support diagnostic, prognostic and disease‑monitoring applications, ensuring accurate and timely results for patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Assess specimens, prepare antibody panels, perform staining, and operate flow cytometers with calibrated settings.
• Acquire and analyze data using validated gating strategies, documenting results in the Laboratory Information System.
• Validate and verify new assays, panels, instruments and software, and contribute to quality management initiatives.
• Maintain equipment, perform daily quality control, troubleshoot technical issues, and manage inventory of reagents and consumables.
• Collaborate with pathologists, hematopathologists and laboratory teams, providing technical guidance to trainees.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 4‑5 years of laboratory experience with at least 3 years in clinical flow cytometry or immunophenotyping.
• Current DHA license/eligibility and professional registration where applicable.
• Knowledge of CAP, DHA, JCI and ISO 15189 standards.
