General Accountant

About the role

VIP Rent A Car is seeking an experienced, data‑driven General Accountant to manage day‑to‑day accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and support timely month‑end closing in compliance with UAE regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Handle general accounting and General Ledger activities, including journal entries, accruals, provisions and adjustments.
• Manage month‑end and year‑end closing, bank and balance‑sheet reconciliations, and rental contract revenue reconciliation with the ERP system.
• Oversee accounts receivable, aging reports, collections follow‑up and customer balances, as well as credit‑card deposits and security holds.
• Calculate fleet depreciation, analyse vehicle profitability, and prepare financial reports with variance analysis.
• Support UAE VAT (5%) and Corporate Tax (9%) compliance, coordinate with auditors and ensure accurate accounting records.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3–5 years of accounting experience in the UAE, preferably in an asset‑intensive industry such as car rental.
• Fluency in Arabic and English.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel (Power Query, PivotTables, XLOOKUP).
• Strong experience with ERP systems; Odoo knowledge preferred.
• Basic SQL ability to write and run queries.
• Practical use of AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude) for reconciliation and analysis.
