General Counsel, AI-First Legal Delivery

About the role

Lead legal judgment for a $1B+ e‑commerce brand, using AI as the primary production method for substantive legal work. Report directly to the CEO and own the legal strategy across multiple business units and the CEO’s personal matters.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver monthly Legal Exposure Audits and quarterly compliance sweeps across e‑commerce, corporate, investment and personal legal workstreams.
• Review, negotiate and manage fund subscriptions, side letters, custody arrangements, loan covenants and other investment documents.
• Draft, review and negotiate vendor, retail and affiliate agreements, and coordinate disputes, regulatory inquiries and litigation with outside counsel.
• Manage the CEO’s personal contracts, cross‑border coordination and asset‑protection matters with specialist advisors.
• Utilise AI tools for document comparison, legal research synthesis, drafting, risk analysis and executive reporting while verifying sources and maintaining professional judgment.

Required profile

• Recognised law degree (JD, LLB or equivalent) and qualification as a lawyer in good standing in at least one jurisdiction.
• 5‑10 years of relevant legal experience operating without an internal legal team, with strong commercial drafting and risk‑identification skills.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross‑border legal matters and manage multiple outside‑counsel relationships.
• Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed.

Required skills

• Substantial hands‑on experience using AI for legal work, with examples of personal delivery and verification.
• Strong executive communication, discretion and follow‑through.
