General Manager - Contracting / Construction

About the role

A recruiter is supporting one of the largest UAE conglomerates in hiring a General Manager - Contracting to lead its growing construction business. This is a senior business leadership role reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the group's ownership. The role carries full responsibility for the division's P&L, order book, business growth and project delivery, overseeing a multi-project portfolio across residential, commercial and mixed-use developments.

Key responsibilities

• Own the division's P&L, revenue, margins and profitability
• Lead delivery across a AED 500m+ multi-project portfolio
• Drive tendering, new business, order-book growth and client relationships
• Oversee project performance on programme, cost, quality, cash flow and HSE
• Lead commercial matters including FIDIC, variations, claims and final accounts
• Build and develop the leadership and project-delivery teams
• Strengthen the division's MEP and self-delivery capabilities

Required profile

• 20+ years' construction experience, with significant GCC exposure
• Main contractor background is essential
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• Proven experience managing a AED 500m+ multi-project portfolio
• Demonstrable P&L, tendering, subcontractor and site-delivery responsibility

Required skills

• Strong exposure to building, civil and/or infrastructure projects
• Working knowledge of FIDIC contracts, variations and claims
