General Manager – Explosives Business

About the role

Lead Arabian Explosives (AREX), a leading manufacturer and supplier of commercial explosives, detonators, emulsion products and blasting services in Ras Al Khaimah. Reporting to the Board, the General Manager is responsible for driving growth, operational excellence, regulatory compliance and people development.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for the business, developing and executing growth, operational and commercial strategies.
• Ensure safe, compliant and efficient operation of manufacturing and operational facilities, meeting all explosives, environmental, health, safety, security and transport regulations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, regulators, suppliers, shareholders and industry stakeholders.
• Drive revenue growth, profitability and sustainable business performance while overseeing capital projects and investments.
• Lead, develop and motivate a multi‑disciplinary leadership team and foster a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Degree qualified in Engineering, Mining, Chemistry, Business or a related discipline.
• Extensive senior leadership experience in explosives, mining, quarrying, chemicals, manufacturing or other high‑hazard industries.
• Strong commercial and financial management capability with P&L responsibility.
• Proven track record of leading complex operational businesses and delivering growth.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation and communication skills; experience in the Middle East or international markets is advantageous.
