General Practitioner - Telemedicine

About the role

SEHA is looking for a compassionate physician to provide primary care through telemedicine for patients suffering from injuries and common illnesses. The physician diagnoses and treats injuries, illnesses and disorders, prescribes medications, advises on lifestyle changes and answers patients' questions. Physicians may work in one or more specialisations such as anesthesiology, family and general medicine, internal medicine and pediatrics.

Key responsibilities

• Examine patients, take medical histories, address their concerns and answer their questions
• Diagnose and treat injuries, illnesses and disorders
• Order, perform and interpret diagnostic tests and explain the results to patients
• Counsel patients on diet, hygiene, preventative healthcare and other lifestyle changes
• Update patient charts and records with current findings and treatments
• Recommend and design treatment plans, prescribe medications or therapies and explain medical procedures
• Consult with other physicians, refer patients to specialists when needed and work with nurses, assistants and other healthcare staff
• Comply with medical laws, for example HIPAA

Required profile

• A medical degree and successful completion of a residency and internship
• A state license and certification to practice medicine
• Knowledge and experience in diagnosing and treating a wide variety of illnesses
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, patience and compassion
• Good leadership, organisational and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
• Willingness to stay up to date with advances and developments in the field
