Governance & Compliance Manager

About the role

Wasl, one of Dubai's largest real estate management companies, is hiring a Governance & Compliance Manager in its Business Excellence & Risk Management department. The role drives the organization's compliance program so that it adheres to all applicable laws, regulations, internal policies, standard operating procedures and ethical standards, while providing strategic direction for compliance management and promoting digital adoption across operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain an enterprise policy framework aligned with strategy, regulation and best practice, and set up governance structures such as audits, reviews and reporting
• Integrate risk management into business processes and build an enterprise risk management framework with accountability and monitoring
• Support internal audits and regulatory compliance across business units, and design compliance monitoring and internal control systems
• Prepare regular compliance reports for senior management and the board, and investigate and resolve compliance issues
• Improve business processes through process frameworks, KRIs and performance dashboards, and act as a proactive risk and compliance support function

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field; master's degree preferred
• 5+ years of progressive experience in business excellence, process excellence, governance, compliance, legal, audit or risk management
• Experience in highly regulated industries such as financial services, real estate, healthcare, energy or government entities
• Experience in Dubai's real estate sector is highly advantageous

Required skills

• Knowledge of global and regional regulatory frameworks, AML, data protection, anti-bribery, sanctions, corporate governance and industry-specific compliance
• Familiarity with compliance technologies and GRC tools
• Risk assessment, control design, control monitoring and testing, and KRI analytics and dashboards
• People management, stakeholder engagement with regulators and auditors, and strong communication skills
