Graduate Engineer Trainee – Fleet Technical Management

About the role

Air Arabia is recruiting a Graduate Engineer Trainee in Fleet Technical Management, based in Sharjah. The trainee spends about two years gaining experience in assigned areas and building the knowledge and experience needed for an engineer role. The programme covers AMP, Systems, Reliability, Warranty, Propulsion, APU, short and long term maintenance, Technical Records, Technical Library, logistics, rotable management and special projects, and teaches how to evaluate and manage ADs and SBs and turn that into business controls.

The trainee also gains experience in base and/or line maintenance, working on Air Arabia and third-party aircraft, so that they can obtain a basic license suitable for an engineer role. They carry out and supervise maintenance tasks, ensuring work is performed, certified and recorded accurately and on time in line with Air Arabia and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Support engineering development engineers and other CAMO staff with maintenance support, performance reviews, request analysis, management reporting, corrective measures and modifications.
• Carry out a training programme agreed with the Training Manager and/or Line Manager, and train in other CAMO areas such as Projects and Warranty.
• Conduct technical root-cause analysis and troubleshooting under supervision, analyse performance reports to spot trends and suggest proactive modifications.
• Identify corrective measures and recommend AMP inclusions or exclusions with justification.
• Review technical documents under supervision for implementation of modifications and repairs, and assist in closing occurrence reports.
• Prepare and perform scheduled aircraft maintenance, tests and inspections, and troubleshoot defects in line with maintenance manuals.
• Plan work to fit within planned ground time, ensure safety precautions and human factors are followed, and coordinate with other engineers and technicians.
• Provide internal customer service to operational teams and represent Air Arabia professionally to flight crews, partners and customers.

Required profile

• Degree in Aircraft Engineering, Electro-Mechanical or Aeronautical engineering (LAE), or a higher diploma/certificate from a recognised institution with relevant experience.
• 2-5 years of study in a university specialising in Aviation.
• Good theoretical knowledge of aircraft engineering with some practical experience.
• Very good written and verbal communication, and very good English.
• Analytical, problem-solving, cost-conscious and accurate, with a balanced, committed personality.

Required skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, MRO systems and web search.
• Ability to use technology systems and tools.
