Graduate Site Civil Engineer

About the role

GHD is hiring a Graduate Site Civil Engineer in Abu Dhabi. This is an entry-level position for engineers in their first two years after graduation, who use professional concepts and academic knowledge to help solve engineering problems of limited scope and complexity. The role supports civil projects such as roads, railroads, airports, bridges, dams, water and sewage systems, irrigation systems and power plants, helping the team deliver high-quality outcomes for clients.

Key responsibilities

• Help senior colleagues manage client and customer relationships using relevant sales or client systems.
• Participate in a community of practice in a defined area of expertise or consulting.
• Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers and act as their main point of contact within an established contract management plan.
• Carry out inspections under supervision to evaluate the quality of engineering works and recommend remedial works.
• Contribute to the development and feasibility testing of proposed engineering solutions.
• Follow HSE policies, teach the team safe working methods and escalate serious risks.
• Identify shortcomings in processes and use change management programs to improve them.
• Take part in assessment and development planning, training and coaching, and keep up with technology, regulations and industry best practice.
• Support product development, project management and the drafting of standardized tenders and proposals.

Required profile

• Entry-level engineering professional in the first two years post-graduation.

• Plans and aligns work with organizational goals.
