Group Finance Controller / Financial Director

About the role

We are looking for an experienced, commercially‑minded Group Finance Controller or Finance Director to lead our finance function across the group. Reporting directly to the Managing Director and Shareholder, you will combine strong financial control with strategic and operational finance leadership to support growth and investment projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting, ensuring IFRS and local statutory compliance.
• Oversee corporate tax planning, VAT compliance, refunds and external audits while maintaining robust internal controls.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow and investment activities, providing analysis for pricing and trading decisions.
• Conduct strategic financial planning, evaluate investment opportunities, lead due diligence and post‑investment monitoring.
• Develop and mentor the finance team, drive process improvements and establish best practices in financial management.
• Maintain relationships with banks, auditors and external partners across projects.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years in a senior finance leadership role within the UAE.
• Proven experience as Group Finance Controller, Finance Director or equivalent, preferably in oil & gas, energy, commodities or trading.
• Background in marine fuels, lubricants or bunker trading is a distinct advantage.
• Experience with investment projects, business expansion outside the UAE, and finance institutions.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and ERP systems.
• Expertise in budgeting, cash‑flow management and treasury functions.
• Experience in corporate tax planning, VAT compliance and audit coordination.
