Head of Accounting

About the role

MAVI is seeking a Head of Accounting to lead the accounting function for US‑based SaaS clients from our Dubai office. You will be embedded directly within US finance teams, acting as a trusted partner to senior leadership and ensuring the integrity of financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full month‑end, quarter‑end and annual close under US GAAP, managing calendar, quality and cycle time.
• Prepare and stand behind the financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) for audit and leadership review.
• Lead revenue recognition under ASC 606, including schedules, deferred revenue roll‑forward and ARR reporting.
• Maintain general ledger integrity, resolve reconciling items and enforce accounting policies and internal controls.
• Direct the annual audit or review process, managing auditors, PBC packages and findings resolution.
• Coordinate US tax compliance with external CPA firms and provide required accounting inputs.
• Handle multi‑entity accounting, consolidation, intercompany balances and foreign currency translation where applicable.
• Prepare reporting packages, variance analysis and KPI dashboards for US leadership and boards.

Required profile

• At least 10 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in SaaS or technology environments.
• Demonstrated experience managing full close cycles and leading external audits.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and ASC 606, ASC 718, ASC 842 standards.
• Proven ability to design and enforce robust internal controls and accounting policies.
• Excellent judgment, process ownership and ability to work in lean, high‑trust settings.
