Head of Arabic Department (MOE Subjects) – Abu Dhabi

About the role

The Head of MOE Subjects will lead the Arabic First and Second Language department across Year 5‑13, ensuring high‑quality teaching, curriculum continuity and alignment with the school’s vision. The role supports Aldar Education’s mission to empower learners and promote UAE culture.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement departmental policies, short‑, medium‑ and long‑term plans, and schemes of work for diverse learners, including SEN, G&T and EAL students.
• Lead curriculum design, ensure comprehensive coverage and progression, and promote Arabic language proficiency and UAE cultural integration.
• Manage and evaluate teaching staff, conduct performance reviews, and organise regular faculty meetings.
• Oversee international benchmark assessments, analyse data to inform interventions, and drive continuous improvement.
• Control departmental budget, organise cultural events such as Ramadan celebrations, and provide direct tutoring and pastoral support for Year 5‑9 students.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field with PGCE or equivalent teacher qualification; a Master’s in Arabic Language or Education is preferred.
• Minimum five years of teaching experience, with demonstrated leadership or department‑head experience.
• Commitment to safeguarding, diversity and the UAE national development strategy.
