Head of Business Banking UAE

About the role

The Head of Business Banking UAE will lead the bank's Business Banking franchise across the UAE, overseeing liabilities, SME solutions, and driving sustainable growth, profitability and market positioning.

Key responsibilities

• Own the Business Banking P&L and achieve targets for deposits, trade finance, fee income and profitability.
• Build and maintain senior relationships with key SME, family businesses and strategic local companies.
• Drive new‑to‑bank customer acquisition and increase wallet share through cross‑selling of lending, deposits, trade and cash‑management products.
• Maintain portfolio quality, monitoring delinquency, concentration, credit risk and emerging risks.
• Lead, motivate and develop a high‑performing Business Banking team, setting performance objectives and succession plans.
• Collaborate with Product, Credit, Risk, Operations, Digital Banking, Treasury and Compliance to improve proposition and operational efficiency.
• Monitor market, competitor and regulatory developments and translate them into strategic actions.
• Promote digital adoption and process improvements to enhance SME customer experience.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting or related field; professional qualification is a plus.
• 12–15 years of banking experience with senior‑level exposure to SME, Business or Commercial Banking.
• Strong UAE market knowledge and deep understanding of local SME banking landscape.
• Proven track record of leading assets, liabilities and trade finance businesses with responsibility for revenue and profitability.
• Demonstrated success in business development, customer acquisition, portfolio growth and revenue generation.
• Extensive leadership experience managing sizable teams and multiple business functions.
