Head of Department – Computer Science

About the role

The school is looking for an experienced and dynamic leader to head the Computer Science department. The role involves driving academic excellence, integrating technology into learning and raising student achievement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Computer Science department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
• Oversee curriculum planning, assessment and departmental development in line with the UK curriculum.
• Promote effective use of technology and digital tools across the department.
• Analyse student performance data and implement strategies to improve attainment.
• Support teachers’ subject knowledge, pedagogical practices and professional development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• Teaching qualification (B.Ed. or M.Ed.) and strong command of English.
• Proven experience teaching Computer Science within the UK curriculum.
• Previous leadership experience in a Computer Science department, preferably in the UAE.
• Currently available to work in the UAE.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of programming, algorithms and computational thinking.
• Proficiency with digital technologies and educational technology tools.
