Head of Design – Healthcare

About the role

The Head of Design – Healthcare leads all architectural design activities for healthcare facilities within the UAE design centre. This senior position shapes the strategy, promotes the business, and ensures delivery excellence for hospitals, clinics, and medical centres.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee design of hospitals, primary‑care facilities, clinics, medical centres and related projects.
• Develop and grow the healthcare‑building design practice.
• Lead project delivery, enforce internal policies and procedures, and maintain quality standards.
• Manage cost, capacity and resource utilisation across the design team.
• Ensure compliance with international engineering standards and local codes.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Architecture or a related field (preferred).
• Specialisation in healthcare building design is mandatory.
• Chartered Professional Engineering certification or equivalent (preferred).
• 15+ years of architectural design experience, primarily in healthcare, within a top‑tier regional or multinational consultancy.
• Significant experience working in the Middle East and exposure to global best practices.

Required skills

• Advanced graphic skills, including hand sketching.
• In‑depth knowledge of international engineering standards and codes.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English; Arabic is an advantage.
