Head of HVDC C&C Installation - Middle East, Asia & Africa

About the role

As Head of HVDC C&C Installation for the Middle East, Asia and Africa region, you will lead the installation organisation within your assigned region and support the safe, efficient and high-quality delivery of HVDC projects. You translate the global C&C installation strategy into regional execution, ensuring projects have access to competent installation resources and management support. The role combines people management, resource planning, project execution support, tendering, constructability, subcontracting and continuous improvement, is primarily office-based and requires regular travel to project sites.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the regional HVDC C&C installation organisation in line with the global installation strategy and business objectives.
• Manage, mentor and develop Installation Managers, Installation Supervisors, Technical Site Advisors and Installation Specialists.
• Maintain an overview of regional installation activities across ongoing projects and tenders, reporting status, resource needs, risks and actions to the Global Head.
• Plan and allocate installation personnel to projects, and support workforce planning and recruitment.
• Ensure onboarding, training, systems access, software and documentation for permanent and temporary personnel.
• Visit project sites regularly to monitor progress, support staff and promote compliance with company requirements.
• Provide regional leadership and technical support on installation methodologies, resource planning, schedules, technical specifications, site accessibility and maintainability.
• Support technical and commercial discussions with customers, partners, project teams and subcontractors.
• Contribute to tendering with input on resource planning, schedules, methodologies, constructability and subcontracting, and support contractor and partner selection.
• Ensure installation resources take part in design reviews, model reviews and constructability workshops, and promote installation best practices in engineering and design.
• Support departmental budget preparation and monitor regional non-project costs and times, working with Project C&C Managers on project cost and time performance.
• Champion health, safety and environmental excellence and foster continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in large projects, power transmission, substations, EPC or large-scale energy infrastructure.
• Proven leadership of regional or international teams in installation, construction, commissioning or site execution.
• Experience managing and developing technical and site-based personnel across multiple locations or projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management or another relevant technical discipline.
• Fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage.
• Willingness and ability to travel regularly to project sites within the region.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of installation activities for equipment and systems, and practical understanding of site execution, resource planning, project support and constructability reviews.
• Ability to coordinate resources and priorities across a portfolio of projects and tenders.
• Experience supporting contractor selection, technical evaluations, subcontracting and contract-related installation input.
• Ability to monitor budgets, resource utilisation, schedules and installation performance.
• Strong understanding of HSE requirements and visible safety leadership.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, influencing and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work in a global matrix organisation across cultures, functions and locations.
