Head Waiter / Head Waitress

About the role

SLS Dubai Hotel and Residences, a luxury 5-star city hotel in Downtown Dubai belonging to the Accor group, is looking for a Head Waiter or Head Waitress. The role leads the restaurant's servers, supports the restaurant leadership team in delivering high guest satisfaction and keeps daily operations running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure day-to-day restaurant operations run smoothly and guide and lead the server
• Assist the restaurant leadership team in achieving high guest satisfaction
• Maximise sales potential and encourage up-selling to maximise rates
• Secure cash floats at all times, follow company procedures for cash, credit cards and cheques, and record voids and report payment discrepancies to the Restaurant Manager
• Work within budgeted costs, minimise overtime and abuse of operating equipment, and ensure supplies are requisitioned, delivered and accounted for
• Handle guest complaints promptly and courteously, liaise with colleagues, the Head Chef and Reception, and complete a daily report in the Management Report Book
• Maintain a respectful rapport with regular guests, focus on quality and consistency in food, beverage, service and cleanliness, and carry out regular asset inspections

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years' management experience in restaurants and bars
• One to two years in a public-facing position, preferably in an upscale or lifestyle brand hotel
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, work independently and build positive working relationships across departments
