Health Care Assistant

About the role

American Hospital in Dubai is looking for a Health Care Assistant to support the provision of safe, patient and family-focused care. The role assists in the daily running of the clinic or department while keeping patient information confidential and helps achieve the clinic's operational goals.

Key responsibilities

• Prioritize tasks so the area functions effectively
• Keep medical equipment and examination rooms clean and ready for use
• Maintain a safe, hygienic environment in line with Hospital policy and Joint Commission International (JCIA) standards
• Ensure clinic stock is kept up to date with no expired items
• Complete the clinic's environmental assessment and the Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) and mandatory education within the required timeframe
• Perform additional duties assigned by the Senior Staff Nurse or Clinic/Nurse Manager

Required profile

• Education: 9 years of basic education with 18 months to 2 years of nurse training, or 12 years of basic education with 1 year of nurse training and a 6-month Health Care Assistant certification course
• 1 to 2 years of experience as a healthcare assistant or caregiver
• Fluent English; spoken and written Arabic is desirable

Required skills

• Assessment of patients' and families' physical and psychological needs
• Coordination and planning of care, prioritizing according to individual needs
• Basic Life Support / Heart Saver
