Health Information Management Administrator (HIMS)

About the role

The HIMS Health Information Management Administrator ensures the integrity, completeness, and regulatory compliance of patient electronic medical records (EMR) at Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Hospital. Working within a JCI‑accredited environment, the role supports high‑quality, patient‑centered care by maintaining accurate documentation and facilitating secure information flow.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct quantitative and qualitative reviews of patient records to verify completeness and adherence to Joint Commission International and DOH/DHA standards.
• Analyze physician documentation, identify gaps or discrepancies, and issue deficiency notifications for correction.
• Coordinate the release of medical information, validating authorizations and ensuring privacy compliance.
• Scan, upload, and maintain records within the EMR system for timely accessibility.
• Identify, investigate, and merge duplicate medical record numbers to preserve data accuracy.
• Respond to record inquiries from healthcare professionals, patients, and authorized external agencies.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent analytical skills for reviewing clinical documentation.
• Ability to communicate effectively with physicians and multidisciplinary teams.
• Familiarity with UAE health regulations and accreditation requirements.
