Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Manager

About the role

The HSE Manager will lead the health, safety and environment programme at Zayed Port, ensuring that all operations are conducted at an As Low As Reasonably Practical (ALARP) level of risk. The role involves strategic planning, day‑to‑day enforcement of the Integrated HSE Management System, and fostering a strong safety culture across the port.

Key responsibilities

• Enforce the Integrated Health, Safety and Environment Management System (IHSEMS) on a daily basis.
• Develop and manage HSE objectives, annual action plans, budgets, training programmes and performance monitoring.
• Oversee waste‑management, incident and accident reporting, and emergency response drills.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with national and international regulations, standards and PPE requirements.
• Lead investigations of incidents and near‑misses, maintain accurate records and submit performance reports to senior management.
• Drive internal and external HSE audits, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
• Support business impact assessments, continuity strategies and recovery plans for all divisions.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in HSE management within a port, logistics or industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of ALARP principles, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to develop and deliver training, manage budgets and produce performance reports.
• Excellent communication skills for liaising with diverse stakeholders.
