Hospital Pharmacist – Abu Dhabi

About the role

The Royal Women Hospital in Abu Dhabi is seeking a licensed pharmacist to manage and supervise its pharmacy operations. The role involves independent dispensing of medications, ensuring legal and professional standards are met, and providing on‑call support for emergencies.

Key responsibilities

• Verify and process all prescriptions, clarifying any doubts with physicians and insurers.
• Dispense medications, including controlled and semi‑controlled substances, and register them according to HAAD regulations.
• Provide patient counseling and answer medication‑related enquiries.
• Advise physicians on therapeutic equivalents and monitor drug usage.
• Supervise assistant pharmacists and related pharmacy staff, offering direction and support.
• Maintain quality indicators and ensure compliance with infection‑control, patient‑safety, and other medical policies.
• Stay up‑to‑date with all pharmacy‑related laws, circulars, and regulations.
• Perform shift work and be available on call for emergencies as required.

Required profile

• Licensed pharmacist authorized to practice in the UAE.
• Ability to work independently while being legally responsible for dispensing accuracy.
• Experience supervising pharmacy staff and managing pharmacy operations.
• Willingness to work shifts and respond to on‑call emergencies.
