Housekeeping Runner

About the role

Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai, part of the Mandarin Oriental group, is looking for a Housekeeping Runner. The role covers housekeeping stores, floor pantries and guest room deliveries, and is based within the Housekeeping department.

Key responsibilities

• Receive stock for housekeeping stores, store it properly and notify the supervisor of low stock levels.
• Maintain floor pantries, refill guest supplies and make timely deliveries to guest rooms, such as extra beds and baby cots, to the highest quality and in line with Mandarin Oriental standards.
• Deliver special guest requests on time with proper presentation, and record each request on a checklist (who requested it, when received, when delivered, guest feedback).
• Assist guests when requested or needed, and ensure all deliveries meet the hotel's standards.
• Issue items from housekeeping stores and keep them neat and arranged according to FLHSS&E standards.
• Remove soiled linens and towels from the pantry and hand them over to the Linen Runner or dispose of them via the linen chute.

Required profile

• Senior High School Diploma or equivalent.
• A vocational diploma in a hospitality-related subject is an advantage.
• At least 1 year of experience in a luxury hotel environment.
• At least 1 year of housekeeping experience in luxury hotels.
• Experience in the Middle East is an advantage.
• Prior experience with HotSOS is an advantage.

Required skills

• Good communication skills.
• Ability to pull and push heavy loads.
