HR Generalist - Build the HR Function In-House

About the role

A growing technology platform in Dubai is looking for a hands-on HR Generalist to set up and run its full HR function in-house. The role covers everything from building policies and frameworks to managing day-to-day employee lifecycle processes, and plays a key part in shaping company culture and ensuring compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and manage the complete HR function, including policies, procedures and frameworks
• Develop and implement the company handbook and employee handbook in line with UAE Labour Law
• Oversee payroll processing, employee records and HR documentation
• Manage the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding and performance processes
• Handle leave management, including annual leave, sick leave and absence tracking
• Drive company culture initiatives and employee engagement strategies
• Ensure compliance with UAE labour regulations and internal governance standards
• Support leadership with HR advisory, workforce planning and organisational structure
• Maintain accurate HR systems and reporting for management decisions

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of HR experience within the UAE
• Proven experience as a standalone or lead HR professional managing full HR operations
• Ability to work independently and build an HR structure from the ground up
• Experience in a technology or startup environment is an advantage

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of UAE Labour Law and HR compliance requirements
• Experience developing HR policies, employee handbooks and internal procedures
• Hands-on experience with payroll, leave management and HR administration
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a practical, execution-focused approach
