Infectious Disease Specialist

About the role

Our leading healthcare facility in the UAE is looking for an experienced Infectious Disease Specialist to join a multidisciplinary medical team. The physician will diagnose, treat, and prevent a wide range of infectious conditions while providing expert consultation for complex cases.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments for patients with suspected or confirmed infections.
• Diagnose and manage bacterial, viral, fungal, parasitic, and other infectious diseases in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Interpret microbiological, immunological, molecular, laboratory, and imaging investigations.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on evidence‑based guidelines.
• Prescribe and monitor antimicrobial, antiviral, antifungal, and antiparasitic therapies.
• Provide expert consultation to colleagues on complex infections and antimicrobial use.
• Support antimicrobial stewardship and infection‑prevention initiatives.
• Participate in infection‑control programs, outbreak management, and multidisciplinary meetings.

Required profile

• MBBS/MD or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
• Postgraduate qualification in Infectious Diseases or an equivalent specialty.
• Relevant post‑specialization experience in diagnosing and managing complex infectious diseases.
• Strong clinical judgment and decision‑making abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
