Infrastructure & Cloud Engineer (Azure, AI, HPC)

About the role

Black & White Engineering is expanding its cloud, data and AI capabilities and is looking for an Infrastructure & Cloud Engineer to own and evolve a modern Microsoft Azure environment. You will work on a global scale, supporting engineering teams across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy and optimise Azure compute, storage, networking and platform services.
• Maintain Azure Landing Zones, enforce security and governance, and manage patching, OS hardening and lifecycle activities.
• Implement Zero‑Trust controls using Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access, MFA, RBAC and Privileged Identity Management.
• Support modern data platforms such as Databricks and Azure Data Lake, and AI workloads including Azure OpenAI and GPU‑based training.
• Operate Linux‑based High‑Performance Computing clusters and associated engineering applications.
• Automate infrastructure with Terraform, Python, PowerShell and Bash, and integrate changes into CI/CD pipelines.
• Create and maintain runbooks, operational documentation and disaster‑recovery procedures.

Required profile

• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure services and cloud‑native architecture.
• Hands‑on knowledge of security best practices and Zero‑Trust principles.
• Background in data platform engineering or AI/ML infrastructure.
• Familiarity with HPC environments and Linux system administration.
• Proven ability to automate infrastructure and work with DevOps practices.
