Inspector - Civil Finishes

About the role

AECOM is looking for an Inspector - Civil Finishes in Abu Dhabi. The inspector monitors and ensures that architectural engineering aspects of the project are carried out according to the inspection plan, drawings, codes and specifications, and liaises with the Senior Architectural Engineer and other engineers and managers.

Key responsibilities

• Review and monitor variations to the work to mitigate time and cost impacts.
• Monitor the contractor's documents and shop drawings, flagging issues that could affect stability or function.
• Monitor compliance with the approved Quality Control Plan and the inspection protocol, and report on progress.
• Assist in expediting approvals and NOCs from authorities and the client, and maintain site records including daily diaries and monthly progress photos.
• Perform and evaluate tests of architectural finishes and building components, and check placement, location and quality of finishes and structural components.
• Issue NCRs to contractors, coordinate with the site team to meet contractual obligations, and prepare daily logs and reports.
• Monitor HSE matters, participate in HSE training and meetings, and perform other duties assigned by the direct manager.

Required profile

• Experience in architectural-type projects.
• Construction supervision experience with a consultancy, minimum 8 years overall (minimum 5 years in the UAE).
• Diploma or degree in Architecture.
