Instrumentation Supervisor

About the role

Emirates Electrical & Instrumentation Company LLC, a member of the Ghobash Group, is looking for an Instrumentation Supervisor in Abu Dhabi. The company has contributed to the UAE's oil and gas sector for almost 20 years, delivering full EPC&M services for electrical and instrumentation works, with ADNOC among its main clients. The role covers daily supervision of instrumentation installation, calibration, testing and commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily instrumentation activities, including installation, calibration, testing and commissioning of field instruments and control systems.
• Coordinate installation of pressure, temperature, flow and level transmitters, control valves, gauges, switches and other instrumentation equipment.
• Supervise instrument tubing, impulse lines, instrument air lines, cable laying, glanding, termination and junction box installation.
• Read and interpret P&IDs, instrument hook-up drawings, loop diagrams, cable schedules, termination drawings and instrument index documents.
• Coordinate with electrical, piping, mechanical, construction and commissioning teams, and ensure work follows approved method statements, project specifications, codes and quality requirements.
• Conduct inspections, coordinate with QA/QC on inspection requests and testing, and monitor manpower, tools, materials and equipment against planned schedules.
• Supervise calibration, loop checking, functional testing and troubleshooting during pre-commissioning and commissioning.
• Ensure compliance with HSE procedures, permit-to-work systems, toolbox talks and safe working practices.
• Maintain daily progress reports, inspection records, calibration certificates and test reports, and guide technicians and subcontractors.

Required profile

• Diploma or technical qualification in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5-8 years of relevant experience in instrumentation works, including supervisory experience on oil and gas projects.
• Experience in onshore or offshore oil and gas construction, brownfield or greenfield projects.
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, hook-up drawings and loop diagrams.
• Familiarity with field instruments, control valves, DCS, PLC, ESD and F&G systems.
• Knowledge of QA/QC procedures, inspection requirements and oil and gas HSE standards.
• Good coordination, team supervision, problem-solving and communication skills, attention to detail, confidentiality and readiness to work on ADNOC project sites under tight deadlines.
