Insurance Services Officer

About the role

The Insurance Services Officer supports the finance and insurance teams at Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Hospital by handling daily insurance operations, including claim processing, authorizations, and submissions. Reporting to the Supervisor, the role ensures compliance with M42 procedures and contributes to efficient patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Process insurance and corporate claims accurately and timely, adhering to contract terms.
• Provide customer support for insurance verification, eligibility checks, and pre‑authorizations.
• Collaborate with staff to ensure correct entry of insurance data and compliance with billing guidelines.
• Maintain organized records and manage correspondence with insurance and corporate clients.
• Track payments, manage outstanding balances, and assist other departments in the revenue‑cycle process.
• Analyze claim adjustments and bad‑debt provisions, generating performance reports.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of insurance guidelines and processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of progressive experience in an insurance environment within a hospital.
• Preferable experience with pre‑authorization processes.
• Certification in medical coding (AAPC or AHIMA) is required.
