International Tax Accountant

About the role

The International Tax Accountant will join CB&I Asset Solutions in Sharjah on an eight‑month maternity cover. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality corporate tax and VAT compliance for the UAE and supporting tax filings across multiple African jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit UAE corporate tax and VAT returns on time.
• Collect and organise data for African tax filings, including withholding tax (WHT) and standard tax returns (STR).
• Assist the team in arranging timely payment of tax liabilities in various territories.
• Produce divisional tax reporting, statutory account disclosures and monthly balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Draft and maintain tax policies and standards in line with company strategy.
• Liaise with external advisors to ensure accurate and timely return completion.
• Support global transfer‑pricing compliance and provide requested information.
• Maintain VAT control schedules for material overseas contracts and monitor legislative changes.
• Act as the central review point for system changes affecting UAE and African taxes.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and build relationships with Operations, Commercial and HR.

Required profile

• Experience preparing UAE corporate tax and VAT returns.
• Familiarity with African tax filings, including WHT and STR.
• Ability to work collaboratively with external advisors and internal stakeholders.
• Available for an eight‑month fixed‑term assignment in Sharjah.
