Junior Auditor / Audit Associate

About the role

Samer Hamadeh Auditors and Accountants L.L.C is looking for a motivated Junior Auditor / Audit Associate to join its external audit team in Abu Dhabi. The role gives practical exposure to external audit engagements, financial statements, IFRS, ISA, client fieldwork and professional audit documentation. It is primarily client-site based, with assignments mainly in Abu Dhabi, ICAD and Al Ain, and occasional travel to Dubai and Sharjah.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out external audit fieldwork and substantive testing
• Prepare audit working papers and document audit evidence
• Review trial balances, general ledgers and supporting documents
• Perform bank, receivable and payable confirmations, inventory counts and other verification procedures
• Prepare and review financial statements
• Communicate with clients and follow up on matters
• Maintain audit documentation using Microsoft 365 and SharePoint

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• Good knowledge of accounting principles
• Good written and spoken English; Arabic-speaking ability appreciated
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
• Comfortable working at client locations and travelling within the UAE as required
• A valid UAE driving licence and own car would be an advantage
• Fresh graduates and candidates with junior-level audit experience are welcome

Required skills

• Good Microsoft Excel skills
• Knowledge of IFRS and ISA is an advantage
