Junior Buyer

About the role

Viya, the UAE's leading golf and hospitality management group, is hiring a Junior Buyer for its Abu Dhabi club. The position sits in the Procurement department and reports to the Assistant Manager Procurement. It supports the procurement of quality goods and services at the best possible value, handling purchasing requests, supplier coordination and procurement administration in line with company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and review purchase requisitions, RFQs and RFIs, making sure all information is complete.
• Source products, obtain quotations and identify suppliers based on quality, price and delivery.
• Prepare price comparisons for management review and coordinate approvals with requesting departments.
• Issue purchase orders through the ERP system or manually, send them to suppliers and follow up on open orders and deliveries.
• Resolve procurement issues with stores, end users and suppliers, and keep procurement records, supplier files and quotations.
• Prepare periodic reports on pending orders and requisitions, support supplier registration and compliance, and take part in department meetings.
• Assist Buyers and Procurement Managers with sourcing, tenders and market research, and represent the department in committees and training such as Fire Marshal or First Aider.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Procurement or a related field.
• 1-3 years of experience in procurement, purchasing or supply chain operations.
• Good negotiation, communication and supplier management skills, with strong attention to detail.
• Experience in hospitality, leisure or golf is an advantage.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ERP procurement systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Compliance with information security policies and awareness of the Dubai Golf Mission, Vision and Values.
