About the role
The Junior Engineer – Marine will support the vessel’s Chief Engineer and other engineering staff in day‑to‑day operations aboard a ship. Working primarily in the engine room and hull, the role ensures smooth operation of main engines, electrical generation, steering and other critical systems.
Key responsibilities
- Stand watch according to the ship’s watch‑keeping schedule.
- Assist in navigation and piloting, maintain charts and publications.
- Monitor vessel systems and equipment, and participate in emergency drills.
- Support cargo operations including loading, discharging and lashing.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the ship and assist in deck equipment maintenance.
- Prepare and submit navigational reports and logs while complying with international maritime regulations.
Required profile
- Secondary school education and a Second Mate’s Certificate of Competency (COC).
- Minimum 5 years of seafaring experience as a Junior Officer.
- Excellent English; Arabic is an advantage.
