Junior Quantity Surveyor / Estimation Engineer

About the role

Careers International is looking for a Junior Quantity Surveyor / Estimation Engineer with a strong civil engineering background and at least 3 years of experience in the UAE construction industry. The role supports the preparation of project estimates, tender documentation, cost planning and budget control, and calls for solid technical skills and attention to detail.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare quantity take-offs and cost estimates from drawings and specifications
• Assist in developing accurate BOQs and project budgets
• Support the senior QS and Estimation team during tendering and bidding
• Review project documentation and identify costing discrepancies
• Work with procurement to obtain material and subcontractor quotes
• Maintain records of unit rates, material prices and vendor databases
• Analyse project costs and help prepare monthly valuation and cost reports
• Collaborate with project engineers and site staff to monitor actual versus estimated costs

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying
• Minimum 3 years of UAE experience in a similar role
• Familiarity with UAE construction standards, tender procedures and contracting practices
• Numerical, analytical and organisational skills, ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; team player with a proactive, detail-oriented approach
