Junior Research Scientist – Computational Linguistics

About the role

The CAMeL Lab at NYU Abu Dhabi is seeking a Junior Research Scientist to contribute to its Arabic language technology research, develop open‑source tools and resources, and publish research outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct research in NLP, computational linguistics, and data science with a focus on Arabic language technologies.
• Develop and maintain open‑source tools, datasets, and language resources.
• Prepare and submit research papers to conferences and journals.

Required profile

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field with ≤5 years of experience.
• Strong programming and software engineering abilities, plus machine‑learning experience.
• Evidence of research publication (e.g., conference or journal papers).
• Knowledge of Arabic language or prior Arabic NLP work is a plus, but not mandatory.
