Kids Robotics and Coding Instructor

About the role

Rixos, a Rixos resort in Ras Al Khaimah, is looking for a Kids Robotics and Coding Instructor to run robotics, coding and STEM activities for children in the kids club. The role is full-time and permanent, and involves planning and delivering hands-on learning while keeping children safe and supervised.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver robotics, coding and STEM activities for different age groups and skill levels, introducing programming concepts, logical thinking and computational thinking.
• Teach children to build, program and operate simple robots with age-appropriate kits and coding platforms, and design robot-building challenges, coding games and STEM projects.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of children during every session, supervise them, enforce safety procedures and report accidents or hazards to the Kids Club Supervisor / Manager.
• Maintain the robotics and coding area, check and record equipment such as kits, computers, tablets and electronic components, and inform management of new equipment needs.
• Communicate professionally with children, parents and guardians, give feedback on children's activities and gather feedback to improve activities.
• Follow activity schedules, coordinate with the Entertainment team, keep attendance records, lesson plans and inventory, complete registration forms and parental consent documents, and assist in organising special events and workshops.
• Keep children's and families' personal information confidential and perform other reasonable duties assigned by the Kids Club Supervisor / Manager or Director of Entertainment.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree, diploma or relevant qualification in Robotics, Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Education, STEM Education or a related field is preferred.
• Previous experience teaching robotics, coding, programming or STEM to children is highly preferred.
• Good English and Russian communication skills; additional languages are an advantage.
• Flexible to work rotating shifts, weekends and public holidays, physically fit and able to stand for long periods and work outdoors in varying weather.
• Willingness to take part in training, emergency drills and continuous skills development.

Required skills

• Familiarity with educational robotics kits, block-based coding platforms and basic programming concepts.
• Ability to explain technical concepts simply and in an age-appropriate way.
• Group management, teamwork with the Kids Club and Entertainment teams, and understanding of child supervision and safeguarding.
