Laboratory Technician

Key responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing on soil, rock, and construction materials in accordance with approved standards and procedures.
• Prepare test samples and specimens, ensuring proper handling, identification, and storage.
• Operate and maintain calibrated laboratory equipment to guarantee accurate and reliable results.
• Follow safety protocols and contribute to a safe working environment.
• Support senior technicians and the Laboratory Manager in specialized testing and reporting.
• Participate in technical training and continuous professional development programs.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Laboratory Technology, Civil Engineering, Geology, Geosciences, Earth Sciences, or a related field.
• Minimum of 1‑2 years of experience in a similar laboratory role.
• Familiarity with testing standards and methodologies such as BS, ASTM, ISO, BS EN, and ISRM.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Operation and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment.
• Computer literacy for data entry and equipment control.
• Knowledge of testing standards (BS, ASTM, ISO, BS EN, ISRM).
