Language Teacher - Early Learning Centre

About the role

The HEI Early Learning Centre, a Reggio Emilia-inspired nursery acquired by HEI UAE in August 2024, is looking for a language teacher. The teacher's main responsibility is the safety and linguistic education of all the children in their care, following HEI operational guidelines and a pedagogical approach to early childhood education.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver activities and lesson plans according to the HEI curriculum and KHDA language guidelines, within the classroom schedule
• Provide learning materials and resources and instruct and monitor students in their use
• Observe and evaluate student progress, create reports and keep daily open communication with parents, including parent-teacher conferences
• Manage behaviour with positive reinforcement and age-appropriate rules, and keep a clean, safe, healthy environment
• Record accidents and inform the nurse when a medical assistant is needed
• Take part in training, meetings and events, and give regular feedback to administration, colleagues and parents
• Maintain confidentiality, keep records (attendance, time sheets, classroom folders) and inspect and maintain classroom inventory, with a full sign-off in August, December and June each year
• Update child-centred displays and children's portfolios regularly
• Support the Nursery Principal and teaching assistants, and attend franchisee training as needed
• Monitor lesson expenses and stay up to date with local and national regulations, including health and safety, safeguarding and inspection requirements
• Foster relationships with parents and take part in community events, open houses and parent workshops

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, or an NCFE CACHE Level 3 certificate, or a Bachelor in Arabic
• At least 2 years working with children in a nursery or early learning setting
• Fluency in English and Arabic
