Lead Project Engineer – Customer Project Engineering

About the role

GE Vernova is seeking a Lead Project Engineer to act as the single point of contact for engineering on customer projects. You will design, manufacture, and commission electrical and mechanical control systems for turbines, generators, compressors and plant controls at domestic and international sites.

Key responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for retrofit control systems, ensuring on‑time delivery, CTQ compliance and budget adherence.
• Lead project teams to meet KPIs, manage engineering hour budgets and milestone schedules.
• Review contracts and customer specifications, co‑lead technical design reviews and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Support customer meetings, factory acceptance testing, installation and commissioning, and interact frequently with customers and suppliers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (or Master’s with 6 years experience); minimum 8 years in turbine‑generator control systems for gas or steam turbines.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a matrix environment and to resolve technical problems in power‑plant operations.

Required skills

• Electrical and mechanical control system design for turbines, generators, compressors.
• Experience with ALSTOM steam turbines, MarkV/MarkVI/MarkVIe/EX2100e systems.
• Familiarity with GE HMIs, networking, cyber solutions, MODBUS, OPC, IEC protocols.
• Knowledge of ControlST software suite and Lean/Green Belt methodologies.
