Lean Specialist - Manufacturing

About the role

The Lean Specialist will lead the deployment, implementation and sustainment of Weatherford's Lean Program across assigned Repair & Maintenance facilities. Working closely with facility and product line leadership, the role translates business priorities into measurable improvements in safety, quality, delivery, cost, productivity and capacity.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the rollout and sustainment of Lean elements such as Hoshin Kanri, Shop Daily Management (SDM) and Office Daily Management (ODM) across multiple sites.
• Conduct Value Stream Mapping, process mapping, time studies and Gemba observations to identify waste and improvement opportunities.
• Facilitate Kaizen events and structured problem‑solving using A3, PDCA, DMAIC, 5 Why and root‑cause analysis, ensuring actions are implemented and sustained.
• Develop operational dashboards, Hoshin scorecards and management reports using Excel, Power BI, JDE, MyAdvisor or Oracle.
• Support layout, material flow and space utilization assessments, and assist with intelligent shop‑floor, robotics and automation initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Lean, Continuous Improvement or Operational Excellence within a heavy‑industrial environment.
• Proven record of delivering quantified, sustainable improvements in productivity, throughput, lead time, cost or quality.
• Lean Bronze/Silver, Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent certification preferred.

Required skills

• Strong practical knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Visual Management, Standard Work, Kaizen, Kanban/Pull Systems, Hoshin Kanri, A3, PDCA, DMAIC, 5 Why and Root‑Cause Analysis.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel; experience with Power BI or similar visualization tools.
• Working knowledge of ERP systems such as JDE, MyAdvisor, Oracle.
• Excellent facilitation, communication, project‑management and change‑management abilities.
