Learning & Development Specialist – Aviation English Training

About the role

The Emirates Flight Training Academy (EFTA) in Dubai South seeks a Learning & Development Specialist to design, deliver, and assess Aviation English training for cadets and staff. You will work within a state‑of‑the‑art flight training environment, ensuring language proficiency aligns with ICAO, GCAA and Eurocontrol standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide Aviation English instruction to ab‑initio cadets.
• Develop, administer, and analyse context‑sensitive testing content, metrics and methodologies.
• Conduct regular assessments to verify cadet performance against course standards.
• Monitor proficiency progress, generate performance reports, and recommend remedial actions.
• Carry out English Language Proficiency (ELP) assessments for pilots and aviation personnel in strict compliance with regulatory guidelines.
• Deliver training sessions for EFTA staff as required by the line manager.
• Research, develop, and propose new training materials and methods to enhance learning outcomes.

Required profile

• Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (Adult Learners).
• Minimum 5 years instructional experience in English for Specific Purposes (ESP) and broader L&D roles.
• Proven ability to apply diverse instructional techniques, including blended learning.
• Experience conducting language assessments, preferably within aviation.
• Specialisation in English Language Teaching, Education/Training, Aviation or Leadership.
