Legal Counsel – UAE National

About the role

Join the Legal & Board Secretariat team at Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) as a Legal Counsel. You will support the bank’s commercial and corporate activities, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations while contributing to strategic legal decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide advice on the legal implications of commercial decisions and transaction structures under the guidance of Senior Legal Counsel.
• Manage simple to moderately complex transactions, liaising with external counsel and internal stakeholders, and support the Documentation Unit with drafting and project management.
• Identify, anticipate, and mitigate legal risks, and help improve the bank’s legal infrastructure cost‑effectively.
• Deliver training sessions to increase legal awareness across the bank.
• Select and manage external counsel, ensuring service quality and appropriate cost.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of legal experience, preferably in banking, finance or commercial law, from a reputable law firm or regional/international bank.
• Bachelor’s degree in law or a recognised conversion course.
• Admission to practice in a civil or common‑law jurisdiction is desirable but not mandatory.
• Strong problem‑solving, analytical and communication skills, with early leadership potential.
• Excellent written and spoken English and Arabic.
