Librarian Specialist – Research Auditing & Academic Integrity

About the role

The Librarian Specialist will support the Department of Family Medicine by reviewing and auditing research papers, ensuring compliance with academic standards, and promoting originality and integrity across the university’s scholarly output.

Key responsibilities

• Review and audit research papers, verify similarity rates using iThenticate.
• Prepare statistics, reports and recommendations to improve originality.
• Deliver workshops and lectures on research ethics, academic integrity and reference management tools.
• Support faculty with PURE and ORCID profile management and ensure accurate research records.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; Master’s preferred in Library Science or Knowledge Management.
• Minimum 4 years of practical experience in research auditing and review services within a research library or publishing institution.

Required skills

• Proficiency with similarity detection tools such as iThenticate.
• Experience using reference management software (EndNote, RefWorks).
• Familiarity with research information systems (PURE, SciVal) and researcher identifiers (ORCID).
