Local Patient Safety Lead

About the role

Boehringer Ingelheim is seeking a Local Patient Safety Lead to head the Near East & UAE Patient Safety & Pharmacovigilance function from Dubai. Reporting to the Medical Director, you will act as the Local QPPV and primary contact for health authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the local PSPV team, defining strategy in line with global guidance.
• Establish and maintain a compliant pharmacovigilance system to protect patient and trial subject safety.
• Ensure adherence to local PV legislation and internal procedures to support product marketing authorisations.
• Serve as the official PV contact for national health authorities and manage inspections, audits and CAPA activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or MD/Dentistry with 3‑5 years of pharmacovigilance experience.
• Experience in Gulf or Levant markets is a plus.
• Valid UAE Professional Practice License or eligibility to obtain one.

Required skills

• Strong expertise in pharmacovigilance and safety database management.
• In‑depth knowledge of global, regional and local PV regulations and GxP requirements.
• Proven ability to interact with health authorities, manage inspections and maintain inspection readiness.
• Experience handling third‑party vendors, license partners and PV agreements.
